We recognized that students are lacking fun these days! That's why CityU iGEM student Maryana Yarshova designed a synthetic biology themed Snakes and Ladders board game. The goal is to ignite a passion for science and medicine among young audiences by integrating engaging gameplay with educational content.

The game helps demystify synthetic biology and showcase the exciting possibilities within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). It is specifically designed for children and teenagers who are curious about the world of science. The game serves as both an introduction to complex biological concepts and a fun activity that families and educators can enjoy together.

By blending entertainment with education, the game makes complex topics accessible and enjoyable. As players navigate through the game, they learn about the basics of synthetic biology, the significance of DNA, and the role of scientific innovation in medicine. It encourages critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity, laying a solid foundatio n for future studies in STEM fields. This interactive experience not only educates but also inspires the next generation of scientists and innovators.

Roll the die, move your piece, and climb ladders or slide down snakes. Answer synthetic biology trivia to earn bonuses. First one to the finish wins!
